windows novice

Hello,

I have downloaded the Swiftforth evaluation package two
weeks ago.
Although I am a hardware-engineer, I also like to write
programs for my designs. For about ten years now, I have
used a simple FORTH for that, runs on a Motorola 6803
micro-processor-board. ( Forth-code is edited on a PC,
and downloaded for compilation to this board, where the
software can be tested, and 'EPROM'-med. )

I tell you this, to indicate that I'm familiar with Forth.

Recently, I had a project, that asked for a connection to
the PC, preferably with nice Windows-software, and I had
NO experience AT ALL with programming for Windows.

At first 'Visual Basic' seemed to be good choice, but I
decided to try and find a Forth for Windows, which I found
in Swiftforth.

I have run all the Windows-samples that I received, but
couldn't find what I was looking for : an easy, step by step
guide, towards a simple ( but real ) application. For me
this should include many lay-out-examples for program-windows,
multiple windows, use of graphics, memory-issues, how to save
and get a file to disk, keyboard entries and serial in- & out-
put.

My BIG question is therefore : WHERE CAN I FIND THIS?

                                Regards,

                                Albert de Gier
