Yes, Marc, you are write I'am compiling excisting programms under
Swiftforth, with lots
of esc codes for PCL and HPGL.
This eveing I try your solution. It works.

It seems it bypass windows totally, not using the window print queu.

When I run my previous programm in an dos-shell, it is using the window
queu and I
have no difficulties with the esc-codes.
All characters printing between "printer" and "console" is one job in
the queu.
Is it not possible to do it this way?
I have then the possibility to use a network-printer.

I agree with the remark of you and Rick to use in future ofcourse the
API-calls when
developing new programms.
