Re: National Instruments' DLL

Nice to see that my email isn't broken. Must be the summer doldrums or
something. Perhaps all of the Forth programmers are just dying off.

Anyway, to answer your question: NO But, sounds interesting.

I thought you might be interested to know that Rick wrote a "raw sockets"
Client/Server application for me. It works well under the current version
of SF. I haven't done much with it yet, but I have connected multiple
clients to the server and passed strings. There is also a neat split window
status display too. I have been meaning to post it to the FAQ, but never
seem to get the time. Haven't announced it on SFTalk because I suspect I
will be flooded with requests. Anyway, I am sending it on to you just in
case you might be interested.

When I zipped the file, I accidentally included some of the Swift Forth
path, but I am sure you can deal with it easily. Bring up the Server first
(of course). The way it is written now, the first 16 chars are assumed to
be the filename for the text and the following text is put into the file (on
the Server, of course). I haven't tried two-way communication, but looks
like the hooks are there. It is configured for Localhost (I think), but
there is enough info in the source to set your own client/host names.

Has anyone written calls to National Instruments DLL for their
IEEE-488
cards in SwiftForth? Are you willing to share your code?

(It's been mighty quiet around SFtalk, so this is partly a
"ping" but
I'm interested in the answer as well.)
