Is GILD broken?

From: Bill McCarthy <WJMc_at_pobox.com>

Using the distribution exe, I created a small file called
'aword.f' in the user directory. Here's the contents of
'aword.f':

   : add + ;
   gild

Here's the command window of my session:

   SwiftForth 2.2.2.9 07May2001
   include aword ok
   edit add ok
   empty ok
   edit add Can't edit keyboard definitions

The first 'edit' worded fine. As you can see, after
'empty', SwiftForth is totally confused - there are no
keyboard definitions.

OTOH, if I type 'gild' at the keyboard, after the 'include'
line, both 'edit' commands work fine.
