If you just need to display datasets or show mathematical functions
(including 3D) you might want to check out GNU Plot (also works with
Linux).
It is free, very mature, has lots of documentation. It also allows
you to
do fancy labeling, scaling, projections and various line types. If
you are
interested, I can provide an example of how to call, specify datasets
and
execute command scripts from a turnkeyed SF application. An added
advantage
is that you can return to SF app. while leaving the plot window open.
The
plot window can then be manupulated, printed, etc. independently of
the
activity of the SF app.
