thanks for the seriously fast reply.
and yes, you are right, now it's working.

the point is,
sf is not accepting anything else than maximized window mode anymore:
either all or nothing ...
i tried all userland possibilities several times,
up and down, back and forth, no go ...
unfortunately i do not spontanously know how to tweak
registry or ram for this issue, the search goes on ...

if you or anybody else has a pointer, thank you!
