But it also requires a concious decision: was my last line typed
one/two characters? Much more confusing than just (unconciously for
me) hitting up-arrow and return to redo the last command (something I
do a lot while watching a scope, etc.) The up-arrow and return keys
can be hit more easily with a single, unwatched finger.

Not a big deal though. I suppose I can change it, but haven't looked
into it.
