bear of a problem

Another potentially key point:
I am running this executable on a FOB... a flash pen drive (128 MB) which definitely does not respond as quickly as a hard disk.

Could a request to this USB drive (which installs itself as a logical hard drive with a disk letter) be too slow for an SF request, and hence the WAIT error? If so, can this wait time be extended to allow for such a slow drive? Does porcessor speed have any bearing on a possible timeout?

I am clearly grasping at straws here - I have been fighting this for two days now and I am getting tired.
