Re: swiftforth on Linux

I confirm that it (2.2.2.9) which used to work in wine with the yellow
background (and CrossOver Office from CodeWeavers, if I am not mistaken)
does not work with Wine version 0.9.48 in the following distros :

- LinuxMint
- openSUSE 10.3
- Slackware 12
- Sabayon Linux 3.4

For all the above distros using Wine 0.9.48 (or cxoffice 6.02
professional) the screen is black and not fiddling with the colors
options will change anything.

I haven't got the time for the moment, but I think this might be worth a
try :

1 - disable all desktop graphics acceleration (Beryl/Compiz etc)
2 - if you are running the x server at 24 bit graphics, you might try
dropping down to 16

Otherwise, there might have been some changes made to Wine which are
affecting this (something in the Windows API). I only say that because
windows that are made by SwiftForth show up fine - except when there is
an editbox, for example... Then it's just black.

Good luck ! If I find anything I'll give a shout.

A. Senerchia
