I ran into a problem installing SwiftForth evaluation edition to my Dell
Laptop Latitude D30 running Windows XP. Searching the archive I found
that Cecil Bayona posted a similar problem:

I'm wondering if a solution has been found.
I've installed SwiftForth to the recommended directory. When I attempt to
run SF.exe I get a popup window with the following message: "The
application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000005). Click on OK to
terminate the application."
I then installed SwiftForth to a usb thumb-drive and am able to run it on
a Gigabyte 845G MoBo running Windows 2000 and a Toshiba Satellite laptop
running Windows XP but, again, cannot run it on the Dell laptop.
Any suggestions greatly appreciated.
