The registry setting you need to change is the one that makes
Outlook your default mail client :-)

There is no portable way of embedding arbitrary URLs into plain text
email bodies ... unless you convince your mail client to put the message
text itself into an attachment, too. Attachments are passed on as is
with no further mucking about.
