I know what Roger means. Wouldn't it be nice if we could compile a "hello
world" app and have it turn out to be just a little over 10k? I've requested
this feature too in Swift forth. I had a forth once (Delta Research JForth,
a very good direct-threaded forth for Amiga) that could do this as an option
for making turnkeys, pre-processing the code and threading only the required
stuff. I loved that feature. I know that big hairy apps are de riguer these
days, but I'm trying to do more 'green' computing these days. ;-)

Subject: [sftalk] Turnkey executables w/o the IDE
Since there's no provided way to say, set a flag and have SwiftForth compile
a program so that the IDE isn't included in the EXE, I was wondering how
easy this might be to do myself? I was thinking to make my own bare-bones
version of Hi.f, making my own custom version of SF and having that compile
the app's turnkey, and of course keep my usage of words buried within the
Forth to an absolute minimum (or copy/paste code). Is this all I can do?
(And most importantly, is it allowed under the license??)
I just want two things: To make executables a more reasonable size and to
make sure that users can never access the IDE.
Thanks in advance
