Hello Gene,
Like Leon, I think a simple dialogbox with bitmap is OK.
Simply remove the <OK> <Cancel> buttons, and set a timer to generate the
WM_CLOSE event.
Possibly you will need to use UpdateWindow(hMainWnd....) before run the
splash dialog.
API: *SetTimer, KillTimer, WM_TIMER.*
