Nice to hear from you again. I don't think I'll need the programming class, although I'd love to meet Elizabeth someday.
I finished my fabulous alarm clock project in December and I'm now trying to figure out how to get the cost down. I basically need high volumes and I lack the funding to get there right now. So I'm supplying my kids with units to get some real world user testing.
Attached is a simple photo and description that I wrote up, while describing my embedded controller experience to a potential employer. I thought you might enjoy it. (It's a Microsoft Word 97 document with no evil macros or malware).
