Lockheed Martin Missiles and Space Systems — firmware for SMART phased antenna array

«application notes

Under a series of contracts with LMMS, FORTH, Inc. participated in the design and did the full implementation of the firmware for the Master Controller unit in the "SMART" Phased Array Antenna which has been successfully deployed at sea aboard the USNS Pathfinder and other Navy support ships. We continue to support this project with design and implementation of enhancements and refinements based on data collected from missions at sea.

Forth firmware supports SMART MC

The operation of the SMART antenna is summarized in this press release in a September 2003 issue of Space News:

"Lockheed Martin has developed an antenna system for tracking U.S. Navy missile test flights. The system, called S-band Mobile Array Telemetry, or SMART, was developed, tested and deployed under a series of contracts with Navy Strategic Systems Programs. The SMART antenna is designed to track the Navy's Trident 2 D5 Fleet Ballistic Missile and can be deployed aboard five test-range support ships."
